Bavaria is the largest federal state of Germany. It has an amazing landscape, including snowy Alpine peaks, streams, forests, etc. Celts are thought to have been the earliest known inhabitants of Bavaria. It is located in Southeastern Germany and is one of Europe's biggest tourist destinations.
Neuschwanstein is a very famous fairy tale castle in this area of Germany, which was built by King Ludwig II in 1870. In 1806, they joined Napoleon's Confederation of the Rhine. During the war in Prussia, they sided with Austria and then decided to side with Prussia, after the wars in France in 1870. The king disappeared after WWI ended, and Bavaria continued to survive as an independent state during the 20s. Although, when Hitler came into power, it became the home of Nazi headquarters in Munich and Nuremberg. Following the war, it ended up falling into the American occupation zone, resulting in re-buildings.
A person visiting this area of Germany should consider checking out their landscapes. They have the wooded sandstone hills of the Spessart, a famous landscape that is the talk of the fairy tale, Forest with the Donkey Trail. They have absolutely breath taking forests covering a majority of the area with a variety of different plants and trees. The climate in this area of the world is a continental one, meaning this area lies beneath the upper level and is characterized by freezing temperatures synonymous with winter in most areas of the world. They have a very rich history, an amazing culture, and the most beautiful landscapes imaginable.
This amazing federal state is a wonderful area to visit for those interested in WWI or WWII, or anyone who is interested in landscapes. Artists love to visit this area of the world for inspiration; the landscapes are perfect for those who are on the artsy side. Even if a person does not have artistic abilities, they will still love this place just the same. There is so much to see!
